✨🦅 Unity Eagles Nation…It’s BIG celebration time! 🎉💙❤️🤍

Senior James Zitelman has been named one of just SEVEN recipients of the Milwaukee Bucks Perseverance Award! 🏀✨

After first noticing a lump on his foot during his freshman year, James was later diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer called Synovial Sarcoma. He underwent the amputation of part of his leg in 2022. His determination never wavered and he chose to fight. 💪

He put in the hard work to come back to the football field. He returned to practice his sophomore year and completed an incredible comeback his senior season, earning his first Varsity letter! 🌟🏈

Known for his infectious smile, positive attitude, and genuine respect for everyone he meets, James continues to inspire everyone around him. He proves that perseverance is not just about surviving. It is about thriving against all odds.💙

With aspirations of joining the Armed Forces and becoming a wild land firefighter, James continues to prove that losing a limb never meant losing his determination.
👏✨ Congratulations, James! We couldn’t be more proud!! ✨👏

Each award recipient will receive $1000, and will be honored on March 28, 2026, as the Bucks take on the Spurs in Milwaukee! 🏀🎉

📣 Unity High School’s Raise Your Voice Club spent an inspiring day in Madison at NAMI’s Youth Advocacy Day!

Students learned about civic advocacy, mental health policy, and how to use their voices to create meaningful change. They then put those skills into action by meeting with a representative from Senator Romaine Quinn’s office to advocate for continued support of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and school‑based mental health services.
A huge thank you to the Mental Health Task Force of Polk County and the Polk County Suicide Awareness Walk. Funds raised through the walk and donated to the Unity School District helped make this powerful learning experience possible. ♥️
