February is National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and this week we are selecting a student that is doing great things in CTE. This week’s Leader of the Week is Nick Frokjer. Nick is a senior at Unity High School and is the son of Ron and Tracy Frokjer. Growing up on a crop farm, Nick learned the importance of hard work, dedication, and patience at a young age. Nick spent many hours shadowing his grandfather and dad while they worked on farm machinery and cared for the land each growing season. Through the years Nick got more and more involved on his family’s crop farm and developed a passion for agronomy. Today Nick enjoys spending time in the fields and working on farm equipment in the shop. He has enrolled in a variety of agricultural education courses, including multiple Independent Study Agronomy courses, to help prepare him for a future career in agronomy. Nick has been a member of the Unity FFA Agronomy Career Development Team and enjoys competing each year in River Falls at the event. Last year Nick was one of the top ten individuals for the contest and hopes that he will achieve success once again this spring. His Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) of diversified crop production is outstanding and Nick is applying for a state FFA proficiency award for diversified crop production. Nick will be attending CVTC next fall to earn a degree in agronomy.
